ANIMAL HOUSE FACILITIES

  • Animal house facility will provides animal care, breeding and maintenance of experimental animals e.g. Rats, Mice, rabbits, guinea pigs for ongoing research projects of the institute. The facility works under the guidance of Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) to ensure excellent animal care, animal handling and treatment and in complete compliance with the Government of India guidelines. Huge working area for the experimentation where students can work freely.
  • The facility has been registered (No. 1629/PO/a/12/CPCSEA) for breeding of and experiments on animals under the Committee for the purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Environment & Forests (Animal Welfare Division), Government of India.
  • Only authorized personnel were allowed to access animal facility to minimize risk of microbial contamination to housed animals. The detail record keeping is mandatory and is kept in animal facility.
 
MEDICINAL GARDEN
Medicinal garden was established in 2006. Medicinal Plants have a great role in human life. India has rich diversity of medicinal plants. Hence, it was extensively replanted by number of plants and we now have over 48 plants from the history of medicine. The objective of establishing this garden is to maintain a conservatory of the most common and important species of medicinal and aromatic plants which are being used in day-to-day primary health care. All the plant species were authentically identified by expert taxonomists, labeled and their therapeutic values are also highlighted.
